Hank Evers | Vigil & Celebration of Life Mass

Hank was called home to the Lord on Monday evening. Since then, our family has received an outpouring of love and support. Please know the prayers have been felt and appreciated in a way that is impossible to describe. Hank would have just the word for it (he was never short on ways to describe his gratitude.) Details for the services are below. All are welcome. It would have made Hank smile to know you were there.

Vigil & Rosary

Sunday, October 10, 7:00pm O’Connor Mortuary - 25301 Alicia Pkwy, Laguna Hills (map link) Celebration of Life Mass Monday, October 11, 10:30am Christ Cathedral - 13280 Chapman Ave, Garden Grove (map link) Note: please enter Gate 2 from Chapman Ave and park in P1 or P2 (other areas may be ticketed) We are anticipating both the Vigil and the Celebration of Life Mass will be available via livestream. If you are unable to be with us in person, please check back here for the posted links for these services. Links will be posted once obtained. All are invited to join the family for a reception immediately following the funeral service in the Cultural Center on the Christ Cathedral campus. Lunch will be served. A private, family-only graveside burial service will be held later in the afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Orange Catholic Schools Fund online or or by check (mail to: Orange Catholic Foundation, 13280 Chapman Avenue, Suite 430, Garden Grove, CA 92840).

Again, your prayers, support and friendship are appreciated beyond words.

I met Hank when we both worked at MC Gill. We became close friends. We used to run/walk during our lunch hour and share our family stories. Hank was such a great inspiration to me. Very gentle man who cared so much for all people. I continued praying for him when I found out about his cancer and I continue to pray for his soul. I am also praying for his family for their loss. I will be attending the mass on Monday to say good by to a great friend that I am glad that I got to know and work with. With my love to you and your family. Your friend,

Riah Rode

What a loss for your family and for so many. But the good news is we know Hank was on the fast track to go directly to be with the Lord! He was a faithful, loving man who served the Lord well while he was here. He was my first boss at Thales and gave me the most wonderful opportunity. He was gentle, kind and inspiring. I was blessed to have him in my life. When he would go to visit Alitalia Airlines in Rome he would go to mass and pray for me. Such a kind gesture. He was one of a kind and will not be forgotten.

We are in Kauai and won’t be able to attend Monday’s…
